Importance of Community Involvement

Protests and Demonstrations
I believe it is important for me to stand up and stand with those I serve.

Congregational Activites
I believe it is my role as a minister to take part in all activities of the congregation

Publicity
As a minister it is important for me to put for a welcoming and inviting message to the community

Raise the Visibility
Helping the congregation be seen as a welcoming and inviting place is my job as a minister.

Public Good
Being involved in activities that serve the public good is my job as a minister.

Celebrating Holidays and Special Events
Making Holidays special and memorable is my job as a minister.

Living our Values
My job as a minister is to encourage us to live our values. there was a time when the Food Pantry clients would wait outside for their Thanksgiving and Christmas Meals, Now their is a reception for clients while they wait.

Using our Spaces for Public Good
Here is a reception for the Refugees helped by the Dedham Refugee project. Opening our doors and facilitation of like minded groups doing good is my job as a minister.

Collaboration
As the Minister collaborating with like minded groups and getting involved in the community helps to widen our circle and raise the visibility of the Church.

Cleaning House
Decluttering is something I have helped individuals and churches do through all my ministry. Having a yard sale once or twice or thrice a year helps.

Walking Together
During the pandemic in Dedham I began a Nature and Nurture walk where we would walk and talk (sometimes about Transcendentalists)

Fairs and Festivals
It is important for the minister to participate in all the fairs and festivals of the church. Here my friend Pam plays Santa at the First Church Holly Fair.
Pam challenged our stereotypes with a sense of humor and great kindness.
