Musings of a minister-- ethics, responsibility, liberalism and love.
Entry for November 22, 2007
What we're really talking about is a wonderful day set aside on the fourth Thursday of November when no one diets.  I mean, why else would they call it Thanksgiving?
~Erma Bombeck, "No One Diets on Thanksgiving,"

Well today I am having soup and salad- but I have had plenty of years with turkey. I hope whatever you eat this thanksgiving you find yourself full of gratitude for whomever provided it.  The planters who planted the seed and the feeders who fed the turkeys, the harvesters and truck drivers and store owners and clerks.  Not to mention whoever went to the store and whoever cooked the meal and whoever is cleaning up.  Much work goes into thanksgiving and may we never ever forget to be grateful for all of the bounty we receive.
